Paper Flowers and Vase

Parents has a really pretty flower and vase craft using paper, buttons, a wooden spool and some ribbon. They posted it for valentines day but it can be a great mother's day gift too.

Hand Print Dish Towel

Family fun has a hand print idea as well using an oven mitt or dish towel.  The nice thing about hand prints is even younger children can participate.  They also suggest brushing the paint onto the hands to make the best print.

Pretty partridge has a cute idea for a framed set of handprints using just pretty scrapbooking paper and a frame.

Diy star has a nice and simple handprint creation using three different colors of paint and paper.  There are a lot of cute variations you could do with this such as using different children's hands or place it in a cute frame.

Mod podge rocks has a similar idea to pretty partridge but using just one handprint and adding a heart label with the child's name and year's old to the palm.  She suggests doing one each year and seeing how the hands grow.

Sibling Handprints

Easie peasie has the most adorable idea for Mother's day. It's a cut out of each child's had using unique scrap booking paper, glue and a pretty frame. That's it.

Milly bee has a print version as well although theirs is for sale so there's no instructions for how to get the smaller hand as the absence of the larger hand. One idea would be to use different color paints for the larger and smaller hands.

Handprint Flowers

Hand prints are a great kids craft because they can be done at any age and make a great gift for all relatives.  Here are some great ways to turn hand prints into flowers. 

Mega crafty has a three dimensional handprint flower craft. You need foam board, paint, and a flower pot.

Growing a jeweled rose uses paper hand cut outs to create flowers.  Using glue to fit them together and a pipe cleaner as a stem. 

An interesting mix makes a hand print into a flower pot using construction paper for the pot, a hand print for the plant and finger prints for the flowers.  The pot offers a good place to write a message.

The trendy treehouse shares a hand print bouquet.

Nifty mom shows a single hand print flower.

Busy bee crafts shows how to make a flower out of a hand print cut out, pencil, and masking tape.

Kids craft zone uses a pipe cleaner and cut out hand to make their version of the hand cut out flowers.

Saturday May 5th

Home Depot has a build a planter project from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Kids will be able to add plants and paint the boxes.
