Cone Christmas Trees


Apartment therapy shares a very simple way to turn a paper cone cup into a Christmas tree.  They don't include instructions to get cones that look like the photos though but recommend using paint, markers, glitter and stickers.

Good for ages 3 and up.


Missie lizzie me and my shadow uses green glitter paper and adds a gold star to make name cards.

Cookie Christmas Ornaments


Gemma garner shows how to turn salt dough into pretty cookie ornaments.  She recommends using paint for the "icing."  Use your favorite Christmas cookie cutters to create lots of different shapes such as stars, trees, reindeer or snowflakes and ornaments.  She says they take a while to dry including 3 hours to bake.

Crystalized Salt Snowflake


Easy preschool crafts shares instructions for making a snowflake out of salt crystals using non-dissolving salt and a paint brushed.  The salt crystals make the snowflake seem true to form.  Have the kids give predictions of how they think the salt will work and the shape it will create.
