Tissue Birds in Walnut Nests


Balls of colorful tissue paper turn into birds with foam beaks, feathers and googly eyes.  Red ted art further gives them little walnut nests hanging from ribbons.

These adorable woodland creature bookmarks are a free downloadable from elli.  They include a squirrel, owl, rabbit, bear, fox and bird.  She also shares a special font to include each child's name on the bookmarks. All they need to do is cut them out.

Popsicle Stick Butterflies


There are lots of great butterfly crafts inspired by a popsicle stick body.  Plain vanilla mom decorates the popsicle stick and glues it to butterfly wings for more decorating.  The stick is topped with pipe cleaner antennae and given googly eyes, although eyes could be drawn on as well.

Bubble Wrap Sight Word Game


Another great way to add some fun to sight reading practice.  Write the words on bubble wrap and when they get it right they get to pop the bubble.  You could also try and have them write the words themselves on the bubble wrap depending their abilities. 

Good for ages 5 and up.
