Curly Beard Santas

Meg duerksen shares some of the cutest Santas ever.  The trick is she takes strips of white paper and curls them around a pencil to make the curly hair for his beard.  She also uses some really cute red and white patterned scrapbooking paper for his hat.

Pompom Wreath

Alanna george has a cute and colorful Christmas craft using a felt cut out base and small and mini pompoms and glue.  She even adds a pin to the back so you can wear it for the holidays.

Paper Christmas Tree

Looledo shares a make your own Christmas tree project using green paper, a green plate, a stick, some tape and some paper clips.  It seems more elaborate than it is.  Plus they provide a template for the tree leaves.

Stained Glass Cookies

Yankee magazine shares a cute way to turn a cookie into a stained glass ornament.  Using sugar cookie mix, crushed hard candies and holiday cookie cutters.  They recommend hanging them in the window as sun catchers so the sun can shine through the translucent candy.  The nice thing about this recipe is any cookie dough will work including sugar or gingerbread.

Natural suburbia has a very easy tutorial to make a wreath out of yarn.  The trick is to get very soft and textured mohair yarn.  Then simply wrap it around a curtain ring.  That's it

Melted Crayon Ornaments

Swell designer turns clear glass holiday ornaments colorful using crayons.  She simply adds a few broken pieces of crayon to each ornament and heats with a hair dryer twirling it around as the wax melts.

Gemma garner shows how to turn salt dough into pretty cookie ornaments.  She recommends using paint for the "icing."  Use your favorite Christmas cookie cutters to create lots of different shapes such as stars, trees, reindeer or snowflakes and ornaments.  She says they take a while to dry including 3 hours to bake.

Crystalized Salt Snowflake

Easy preschool crafts shares instructions for making a snowflake out of salt crystals using non-dissolving salt and a paint brushed.  The salt crystals make the snowflake seem true to form.  Have the kids give predictions of how they think the salt will work and the shape it will create.
