Paper Plate Birds and Nests

Happy National Bird Day.  To help celebrate below are some cute bird nest crafts for kids.



My city for kids folds a brown painted paper plate to make a pocket and stuffs it with little paper chickens and raffia.

Good for ages 6 and up.

Dltk kids uses a pocket as well with fuzzy pom pom birdies popping out.

Nestful of eggs uses a white paper plate as the background gluing on felt eggs, a birdie and tree branch.  She uses straw to make the nest.

1 pure heart paints her plate blue on top for the sky and brown on the bottom for the nest.  She also uses crinkled raffia to make the nest.  For the little chicks she uses pompoms and googly eyes.

Juggling with kids uses the plate as the nest itself using strips of paper for the nest twigs.  She adds plastic eggs to make the bird bodies, adding paper wings and beaks.
