Fish Wind Sock



The crafty classroom shares the Japanese holiday of Kodomo no Hi, also known as Children's' Day.  According to the site the traditional decorations are large carp streamer windsocks. The idea is because carp swim upstream they are considered to be strong and lucky something parents want their children to be as well.

Mother's Day Newspaper Card


Tell Mom she's the best with this free pdf printable from Martha Stewart.  She leaves places for a drawing, and spaces for kids to write in all the things they love about her.

DIY Sewing Kit


An egg carton gets upcycled to make an adorable sewing kit with better homes and gardens adding a pin cushion, scissors, buttons, thread, measuring tape and coins.  They spray paint the carton to make it fresh.

Shrinky Dink Hand Print Key Chains


Found on pinterest these key chains are made from shrinky dink paper/plastic found in any craft store. Put a hand print on the paper and write a message in the hand. Pop it in the oven and you have miniature hand key chain perfect for Mother's Day.

Good for ages 4 and up.


Plucking daisies uses a rainbow print stamp to make her version and adds an initial charm.
