Popsicle Stick Butterflies

There are lots of great butterfly crafts inspired by a popsicle stick body.  Plain vanilla mom decorates the popsicle stick and glues it to butterfly wings for more decorating.  The stick is topped with pipe cleaner antennae and given googly eyes, although eyes could be drawn on as well.

Good for ages 2 and up.

Bubble Wrap Sight Word Game

Another great way to add some fun to sight reading practice.  Write the words on bubble wrap and when they get it right they get to pop the bubble.  You could also try and have them write the words themselves on the bubble wrap depending their abilities.

Good for ages 5 and up.

Found on Pinterest but with a broken link to the original source.

DIY Mandolins

An easy and colorful idea for a cute musical toy is to make mandolins out of embroidery hoops and pretty colored rubber bands.  Hello bee has an excellent tutorial and even paints the outside of the hoops to make them even cuter.

Good for ages 5 and up.
